• >This round will consist of 30 multiple choice questions related to microprocessor 8085 & its peripherals. Each team will have to solve these questions in the given time.
• >The top 10 teams to qualify this round will go to next level.

Round 2

• >In this round each team will be required to solve an interfacing problem related to Microprocessor 8085 & its peripherals.
• >Teams will be given a kit in which they have to show their output for the problem. Each team has to finish it within the given amount of time.

Round 3

• >In this round judges will ask some question related to Microprocessor 8085 and its peripherals.

Judging Parameters

>Final mark will be calculated on the basis of rounds 2 & 3. Decisions of judges will be final in this regard.

• > Game Mode : International and Club
• > Arriving late for a scheduled match may result in a forfeit at the discretion of the Admin.
• > At the end of each match, the players must remain seated, remain at the victory/defeat screen and await a referee to record the results. Closing the victory/defeat screen without being recorded by a referee may result in a default loss.
• > Admin reserves the right to install additional software and/or join as an observer for tournament operations purposes, such as verifying match results or gathering match data.
• > Player changes and strategy changes are limited to 3 times during the game. (The changes before the start of first and second half are not included in this count.)
• >Team selection: National and Club teams may be selected by the players. The players are allowed to choose the same team.
• >The teams will play extra time and penalty also, if the normal time fails to produce any result.
• > The players may bring their own keyboard, headphone and gaming controller for the event (headphones will not be provided).Any software required to be installed for the controllers must be brought before the start of the competition else it will not be entertained.
• > The host and client for each match will be decided by a coin toss.
• > The teams and player abilities cannot be modified arbitrarily.
• > Graphics and other settings may only be setup through the menu. (Configuration file cannot be used). The allowed resolution is 1024x768x32.
• > Players on both sides must select the options before they begin the game. No complaints regarding settings will be entertained once the game has begun.

Tournament Rules:

• In the initial rounds of the tournament, each player plays one match against his/her opponent in a single knockout match.
• After the internal and external prelims, once the quarter-finals begin, the first player to win two out of three games wins the match and proceeds to the next round. The same rule will be followed in the semi-finals and final.

Forbidden Moves

The following rules must be observed:
• >The players must kick-off with a backward pass at the beginning of each half and after every goal is scored.
• >The players are not allowed to shoot the ball directly onto the crossbar from a corner kick in order to get a chance for a header when the ball rebounds.
• >It is not allowed to score a goal from one's own half of the field.
• >It is forbidden to make a throw-in directly into the opponent's penalty area. Should a player throw the ball directly into the opponent's penalty area he shall be warned. Should he persist, he shall be disqualified from the tournament. Any goals resulting from a throw-in into the opponent's penalty area will not be counted.
• >If a player changes his tactics, formation or line-up he has to kick the ball out of bounds after the changes so that his opponent is able to react.
• >There is a bug in FIFA 09 where the ball sometimes enters the goal from the top of the crossbar or from the top or side of the net, and FIFA 09 (PC) considers it a goal. Should such bug occur during a match, the player should take note and, at the end of the match, call a referee to confirm the bug with the use of the in-game replay. Should this bug be confirmed, the admin will make an appropriate call.
• >In any case, a goal scored due to the use of a "forbidden move" shall not be counted.
• >Should a player persist in playing with forbidden moves, he may be disqualified from the tournament.

Disconnections

• >Disconnection: any connection loss between opponents due to system, network, PC, and/or power problems/issues.
• >Intentional disconnection: any connection loss between opponents due to a player's actions. Upon judgment by the referee, the offending player may be charged with a default loss.
• >Should a disconnection occur:
1. >A referee will confirm the exact score to that point (even if the ball is about to cross the goal line, the goal shall not count), and restart the match.
2. >A referee will inform the players on exactly how many minutes must still be played in order to complete the match.
3. >Any players sent off the field (red card) shall count as a goal each for the opponent when the match resumes.
4. >If the disconnection occurs after a corner kick was awarded to a player, the match will resume with a corner kick for that same player.

Unfair play

The following actions will be considered unfair play:

• >The use of any cheat program
• >An intentional disconnection
• >The use of any settings exceeding the standard and permitted settings
• >Clearly allowing one's opponent to win a match.
• >Unsportsmanlike behavior or, in general, disruptive (e.g., shouting), inappropriate and/or unprofessional actions directed towards another player (even inside the game).
• > Upon discovery of any player committing any violations regarded as unfair play, the offending player, at the sole discretion of the board of referees, may receive a warning, a forfeit loss or, in extreme cases, be disqualified from the tournament.

Note: Under Any Circumstances, The Decision Of The Administrator Will Be Final And Any Team Not Agreeing To It Will Be Liable To Disqualification. Rules Are Subject To Change till the Last Minute According To Admin's Discretion.

1. >A person once eliminated he/she can try to qualify only once more during prelims after payment of further entry fee.The decision of the admin regarding any situation will be final and irrevocable.


2. Prelims: One-on-one race on any track set by the admin. Only the winner will be selected for Quarter Finals. Only stock cars can be used.


3. Quarter FinalsThe contenders will be sorted into groups by the admin. Each group will have to face only one race on any track set by the admin. Only the 1st and 2nd positions from each group will be qualified for semi-finals. Only stock vehicles can be used during Quarter Finals.


4. Semi-finalsUpgraded cars can be used during these races. Three races will be conducted on any tracks and any type of race set by the admin. Selection will be based on best-of-three basis. Only the top four will be selected.


5. Finals:Finalists will have to race through 5 races. Upgraded cars can be used. Tracks will be set by the admin. The selection of winner will be on best-of-five basis.



General Rules



1. >The decision of the admin regarding any situation will be final and irrevocable.
2. >Any participant found using unfair means including use of cheat codes will be Disqualified on spot and barred from further entry to the Tournament. Name of the captain must also be mentioned.
3. >Admin can choose to bar any person from entering the competition.

• When defusing, the player must be able to see a part of the bomb. Defusing through objects is not permitted.
• Silent C4 installation is considered illegal.
• Throwing grenades over buildings on every maps is permitted.
• If disconnection occurs during a match
  

  If all the players cannot play due to an unintended, unforeseen accident such as server stoppage,
  

  - Before the 3rd round starts: restart the match.
  - After the 3rd round starts: Disconnected player must re-connect to the server and the round is restarted with 5000$ but the score is counted from before.

  
  In the case of intentional disconnection, the admin may decide to end the match with the offending team losing by forfeit.

IN ANY CASE THE DECISION OF THE ADMINISTRATOR WILL BE FINAL AND ANY TEAM NOT AGREEING TO IT WILL BE LIABLE TO DISQUALIFICATION. RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE TILL LAST MINUTE ACCORDING TO ADMIN'S DISCRETION

Bio-Scope

Bengal has always been an ideal place for budding Film Makers & Film Technicians. Avenir, the Tech Fest organized by Phoenix, The Tech club of NSEC salutes the ecstasy of the young generation regarding this form of art, which, on the other hand is also a technical event. Movie making has always been one of the most prestigious events of Avenir. This time it is back with a bang! Time limit is extended! Prize money is increased!

Rules & Regulations:

• >Time limit is 8+1 minutes.
• >Theme is open. A movie can be about anything.
• >Offensive visuals or use of vulgar languages will lead the participant to disqualification. If the use of vulgar language is absolutely necessary then editors should 'beep it out'!
• > Films must be submitted in a compact disk on the day of the event.
• > The video format must be compatible with VLC Media Player. And it has to be of minimum 480p quality, as it will be screened in front of the judges.
• >The sound portion of the movie should be clear & audible.
• > The movie should be an original creation of the team.
• >A team can be consisted of 6 members at max (including the maker, editor, cinematographer and major casts).
• > A synopsis of the movie as to be submitted along with the movie in that same compact disk in doc file.
• > The maker will have to present an overview of the film in front of the judges & the audience before the movie is screened.
• >Judges decision is final & irrevocable.

Cine Articulate

Movie, as a form of art can be interpreted & different thoughts. A movie articulate is all about that! Many of us edit wiki movie reviews & IMDB! Its time you place your bets into this competition & Show them what you got! This event showcases the talent in review writing!

Rules & regulation:

• >A event will take place in two rounds.
• >In the first round a short film will be shown to the participants & they have to a write a review write 250 words.
• >From this round 10 participants will be selected for the final round.
• >In the finals another short film will be screened and the participants will have to write a review within 350 words.
• >Language can be either English or Bengali.
• >Judges decision is final & irrevocable.

Do you think that all the people in the world would listen to you, singing & would stop whatever they were doing for a while & would want a give a thought about the idea that a song tends to? Can u sketch? & can you sketch the face of an idea? Can u act? Do u think a satire can be powerful enough to that it can change the world? Can u dance? Can you prove that the ideas are not captivated but they are free, they are invulnerable? Can you speak and want people to listen to you, while you analyze a picket line? Or, you only want to do your job so that people can forget about life for a while? Its time you hit the streets!
This year, Avenir introduces FREE-WHEELIN'!
We believe that all the art forms are somehow related if they are driven by a particular idea. Out here, we will provide you with a theme/idea/topic, which you have to implicate in your performance. As this whole idea is inspired from 'Nukkads' & street arts, and the radical cultural revolution of the sixties, we will provide you with a street corner like atmosphere. No mikes, no amplifiers!

RULES & REGULATIONS:

• > An idea/theme/topic will be provided; participants have to implement that very idea through their performances.
• >Any form of art is allowed & welcome! People can Sing, sing in groups, play instruments, sketch, paint, speak, act & direct charades (one-act dramas), recite, dance, dance in groups etc. But key point is you have to implement the given theme through whatever you want to do.
• >Offensive languages will lead a participant to disqualification.
• >Time limit for each performance is 10+1 minutes.
• >Participants, performing in groups, can have maximum 5 people in their groups.
• >No electronic appliances will be allowed/provided viz. mikes, amplifiers, cables, lights, mixers etc. A Street corner like atmosphere will be provided.
• >Judges decision is final & irrevocable.

Treasure Hunt

RULES:





Round 1:



• >A team can consist of maximum 3 members and minimum 1 member.
• >A puzzle will be provided to you, solve it to solve the crossword within an hours time.
• >Top 20 teams from the first round will qualify to the next round.



Round 2:



• >Varieties of puzzles, cryptograms, brain teasers will be given to you, each lead to a clue or some specific item.
• >Find the item, get it (BEG, BORROW, STEAL) but bring it along with you when you are coming up to match the answers.
• >You must have the product with you or else correct answer of that puzzle will not be held valid.



Round 3:



• >Top 5 teams from the second round will qualify for the third and the final round.
• >In this round several clues will be given to you, you need to solve them and trace the path that leads to the treasure.
• >The team who finds the treasure first wins.

Gully Cricket

Rules and Regulations

• >Each team will comprise of 8 players and 2 substitutes.
• >6 overs will be bowled per innings.
• >All the matches will be played on knock out basis.
• >Each team member will be required to produce their ID cards before the match or else won’t be allowed to participate.
• >Imitation of any ID card is an offence and that will lead to disqualification.
• >In case of tie a super over will be played & the contesting teams will have to submit names of 3 batsmen and 1 bowler before the super over begins.
• >Hitting a ball over the boundary would deem a batsman out. In case of confusion, umpire’s decision will be final.
• >The bowlers should bowl half a hand and not bowl at pace which would be the sole discretion of the umpires.
• >The fee for the registration is Rs 500 per team & the teams can enrol/register online. However on spot registration will also be available.
• >The teams will be registered on first come first serve basis.
• >Only first 40 registered teams are allowed to take part in this event. After this no more teams will be allowed.
• >Onspot registrations will be open until 12 noon on 10th of March 2013.
• >It is advisable to register online and only one member must register representing the team.

RULES:

• >There will be 4-5rounds of Puzzle Duzzle every day.
• >Starting from the time of announcement of a round, an hour's time will be given to the participants to crack the puzzles for the particular set.
• >Once a correct entry is received, the round will be declared closed.
• >Winner of each round will be awarded cash prize immediately.

Judging parameters

>Entries will be judged on the number of correct solutions and of course the time consumed if the round had not already been called off with an all correct entry before the one hour span is over.

Rules & Regulation:

• >At most three (3) photos can be submitted by a participant & all of them must not be only monochrome.
• >Photos should be in JPEG format and be of at least 360p quality.
• >Photos should be submitted in a pen drive or compact disk on the day of the event.
• >Heavy editing is not allowed. Only touch ups in sharpness, brightness and contrast is allowed.
• >HDR is not allowed.
